Ion Release from Dental Implants, Prosthetic Abutments and Crowns under Physiological and Acidic Conditions

چکیده

Ion release from dental implants and prosthetic restoration can affect osteointegration implant viability over a long period of time. Therefore, the aim this study was to ion crowns, with without intermediate anodized abutments, in two different media, simulating clinical conditions. The implants, abutments Cr–Co crowns were divided into groups depending on media: Hanks’ solution 1% lactic acid, body fluids microbiologically conditioned fluids, respectively. followed ISO 10271:2011 10993-15:2000 standards modified simulate replacement oral environment. ions’ measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-EOS), only aluminum, chromium, cobalt, titanium vanadium identified. concentration higher acid than at all time points (p < 0.05). Only showed very low no statistically significant differences = 0.524). Both immersion medium influenced ions affected corrosion these structures. presence an abutment also release, as level lower component.

Fluoride release from fluoride varnishes under acidic conditions.

OBJECTIVE The aim was to investigate the in vitro fluoride release from fluoride varnishes under acidic conditions. STUDY DESIGN Poly(methyl methacrylate) blocks (Perspex, n=3 per group) were painted with 80 ± 5 mg fluoride varnish (n=10) and placed into artificial saliva for 30 min. Then, blocks were placed into either 1% citric acid (pH 2.27) or 0.3% citric acid (pH 3.75) solutions (n=3 per...

Connecting accuracy of interchanged prosthetic abutments to different dental implants using scanning electron microscopy.

The present study evaluated the interchangeability of prosthetic components for external hexagon implants by measuring the precision of the implant/abutment (I/A) interface with scanning electron microscopy. Ten implants for each of three brands (SIN, Conexão, Neodent) were tested with their respective abutments (milled CoCr collar rotational and non-rotational) and another of an alternative ma...

Galvanic Corrosion and Ion Release from Different Orthodontic Brackets and Wires in Acidic Artificial Saliva: Part I

Objective: Corrosion resistance is among the most important properties of metal alloys used in the oral cavity. Consumption of acidic foods reduces the salivary pH and intensifies the corrosion of brackets and orthodontic wires. This study aimed to compare electro galvanic corrosion of different orthodontic brackets and wires and determine the amount of ions released into acidic artifici...

Marginal discrepancy of screw-retained and cemented metal-ceramic crowns on implants abutments.

This in vitro study quantified the marginal discrepancy of the implant-to-prosthetic-crown interface on nonsubmerged dental implants restored with either a cemented or a screw-retained approach. Metal-ceramic crowns were fabricated for 20 ITI 4.1 x 10 mm solid-screw titanium implants. Ten implants received octa abutments and screw-retained crowns fabricated on premachined gold cylinders. The re...
